ORDERING

A new 8 meal menu is released every Friday at Midnight.

How far in advance do I have to order?

All orders must be placed by 1:00 p.m. Pacific every Thursday.

Can I request an ingredient substitution?

We currently cannot accommodate custom changes to your meals. However, on most of our meals we offer double protein or a low carb option that swaps them for more vegetables.

What is your refund policy?

If you are unhappy with any of our meals, please let us know right away and we will gladly apply a meal credit toward a future order.

Please note: for us to effectively deal with issues, you must contact us at support@grubboxx.com with any issues the same day your order is received or picked up.

What do I do if I need to make a change or cancel an order?

Please contact us at support@grubboxx.com to change or cancel an order. 

We cannot make changes to your order or honor cancellations after the Thursday 1:00 p.m. Pacific order deadline.

How do I use discount codes, coupons, or gift cards?

You can apply coupons in your cart and on the checkout page where you enter your billing details.

DELIVERY & PICKUP

When & Where are Pick-Ups?

We are located in East Sacramento at the Fremont Presbyterian Church, on the backside of the building. Our address is 5770 Carlson Drive, Sacramento, CA 95819.

Pick-Up Days

Sunday: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Monday: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Please contact us and let us know you won’t make it. If you cannot make either pickup day, you will still be charged and we cannot offer a refund.

What happens if I miss my pick-up time?

You are responsible for picking up your meals. We can accommodate a date change as long as it is within our normal pickup hours. For example: If your initial pickup day was Sunday, you can still retrieve your meals during Monday pickup.

When are deliveries?

Orders are delivered Sundays between 6:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.

Your first delivery is free, but includes a one-time bag deposit fee of $15. All subsequent deliveries are $11.99 or $20, depending on your location.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

No, but it is highly recommended that all meals be transferred to refrigeration with 30 minutes of your text notification confirming your delivery was dropped off.

We use insulated thermal bags and ice packs to keep meals cold for as long as possible so we don’t have to resort to freezing them and degrading the quality of your meal.

Do you deliver to offices or businesses?

Yes, as long as your business is open from 6:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. We only deliver bags to the lobby or main entrance.

How are meals delivered?

All meals are delivered by Grub Boxx staff and are placed inside a zip-closed, thermal insulated canvas bag with ice packs directly on your porch.

Do I have to return the meal containers, reusable bags or ice packs?

We do not need the meal containers back since we cannot reuse them for business. Since they are recyclable, reusable, BPA-free, microwavable, and freezer safe, our containers work great for Tupperware in your house! We also encourage you to recycle them if you no longer have a use for them.

Reusable bags only need to be put out on your porch before the delivery driver arrives. If you decide to stop using Grub Boxx, all bags and ice packs must be returned within 5 days of your last purchase without damage to receive your $15 deposit back.

Grub Boxx reserves the right to charge a fee for customers who keep more than two (2) bags for an extended period of time and do not leave them out for our delivery drivers to collect. The fee will be determined based on the number of extra bags and the length of time they are kept, and will be deducted from the bag deposit fee, including additional charges, if necessary, upon return of the bags.

This policy is in place to ensure that our delivery drivers have access to enough bags to fulfill orders in a timely and efficient manner, and to prevent excess waste and unnecessary expenses for the company. Customers are encouraged to return any extra bags promptly to avoid any additional fees. 

MEALS

What if I have food allergies?

If you suffer from food allergies, we encourage you to contact us at support@grubboxx.com before ordering and we are happy to address any questions or concerns you have, and inform you which meals are allergen-free.

We make every effort & use best practices to avoid cross-contamination, but we cannot guarantee there wont be cross-contamination with your meals.

Are all ingredients organic?

We make our best effort to ensure all ingredients are local and/or organic, whenever possible. All ingredients are hand-picked by Grub Boxx staff to ensure they meet our rigorous requirements for quality & freshness.

What size are your meals?

We craft all meals to be well-balanced, portion-controlled, and under 500 calories. All meals are packaged in individual serving containers and are intended for one person. 

Our regular size meals contain:

Meat/protein:  3.5–6 oz.

Starch/carbohydrate: 3–5 oz.

Vegetables: 3–5 oz.

Double protein and low-carb options can be added to most meals. 

Please note: all our portions are based on specific nutritional guidelines. Nutritional information is provided using information obtained from product labels and the USDA Nutritional Database, all information should be considered an approximate value.

Can I add more protein to a meal?

Yes, you can add double protein to most meals for an extra $4 per meal.

Do you offer low-carb or keto meals?

We attempt to keep macros for each meal in line with a healthy, balanced diet and with a caloric-deficit in mind. If you are looking for a lower carb option, we can substitute any carbohydrate/starch with vegetables for an extra $1 per meal substitution.

How long do meals stay fresh?

Our meals are sealed to maintain freshness for 4-6 days while refrigerated. We always recommend eating salads, seafood, and/or knife-cut produce meals first.

How do I prepare or heat meals?

Meals usually taste best when removed from the container and reheated using a stove-top or convection oven.

You can also use the reheat feature on your microwave in 45-60 second increments, until the temperature reaches your preference.

A Message From Our Chefs

Leave the meal container lid in place if you are microwaving, but open one side to allow venting.

Add sauces after reheating. Our sauces are made from low-calorie ingredients and may slightly evaporate under high heat.

All meals arrive to you pre-cooked and only require warming. Long durations in the microwave may affect the texture and taste of your meals.

TECHNICAL

I’m not seeing shipping options, what should I do?

We only delivery to certain regions/zip codes. A map can be seen here. A list of all currently covered zip codes is at the bottom of this FAQ entry. If your zip code is not on the list, you will only see local pick-up options.

To see your shipping options, make sure you are logged in to your Grub Boxx account and have filled out all information, including your zip code, at checkout.

If your zip code is on the list below and you have entered it on the checkout page, but still don’t see a shipping option:

  • Delete the zip code field and re-enter it.
  • Log out and log back in. All items will still be in your cart.

If the above methods do not resolve the issue, you may need to delete your cache. Instructions for your device are below.

Please note: You may lose access to your cart items, and deleting cache may make you have to re-login to other websites the next time you visit them.
